FOODAKAI Food Safety Intelligence Platform
FOODAKAI is a platform and web application that scrapes the web for public food safety announcements. The data is automatically extracted and curated by domain experts, and then further analysed to provide useful infographics and dashboards through an interactive web application (TRL 9).
This tool can be applied to developing methodology, tools and products for food safety issues addressing biological hazards, chemical contaminants in food and feed, data, and emerging risks.
The tool can target the following foods: drinks (spirits; wine; beer; mineral waters and soft drinks); food products (chocolate and confectionery; food preparations; processed tea and coffee); meat products; dairy products; processed fruits and vegetables; oils and fats; bakery and farinaceous products; fish products; animal feeds; grain mill and starch products.
FOODAKAI can be used in the food chain stages of processing; packaging; distribution; retail.
