Innovative feed and food additives with antimicrobial effect
Organic and inorganic materials have been selected for their ability in preventing bacterial growth and toxin production by bacterial pathogens. These additives can be used as growth promoters in alternatives to antibiotics. (TRL 9).
These additives can be applied for product development. They can be used to advance and improve processes and existing methodology in the fields of animal health, biological hazards, emerging risks, and feed additives, and to further develop the methodology.
The target foods are meat products; dairy products; fish products; animal feeds.
These additives can be used in the food chain stages of primary production, processing and waste management.
