The European Commission is organising an online high-level event on 16 July (10-15 CET, Brussels time) for policymakers, stakeholders and citizens to express views on the different aspects of the transition to sustainable food systems and contribute to the 2021 UN Food Systems Summit.

The morning’s interactive sessions will review and discuss the outcomes of the Citizens’ Dialogue sessions held on 12-13 July and consider the results. The topics that will be addressed are:

  • Sustainable food production
  • Healthy diets concepts
  • Food waste prevention
  • Labelling techniques

In the afternoon, two panels discussions will be organised on topics relevant for the Summit such as ‘Addressing global food crises’ and ‘How to promote a sustainable food chain?’

Simultaneous interpretation will be available in English, French and German for this high-level even
